"What’s real is that you get rained on by the weather and occasionally sh*t on by production. What’s real is that sometimes you have to go find somewhere to cry because you just found out that half the people you went to school with, are married with kids and 9-to-5’s…and you have been mercilessly shut out of their world all because you wanted to make movies instead. You become the weird friend who is always busy and doesn’t go out. You have been rushed into a world where you’re going to work when everyone else is coming home…or vice versa. A world where part of your life is dictated to you over a walkie and the other part of it exists between the last mag of the day, and the apartment that gets messier and messier the more you work. The laundry! The dishes! The cat with separation anxiety issues! Bill collectors won’t understand “I was on a feature for two months” and relatives won’t understand that “nothing in the pipeline” is different from “unemployed”.

I was so pumped for visuals

I hopped the fence of Mohawk in Austin in hope of seeing some trippy visuals along with Growing's set. The set was hella dope and I shot this video but, sadly, it was not the visual experience I had expected :/

Listen and Enjoy!

storytime

I just finished reading ICE HAVEN by Daniel Clowes and it was awessooome. I haven't read David Boring yet, so that's probably somewhere next one my list, but it did remind me a lot of Ghost World.

camping rules

they wouldn't let him sign my boob!

So the other night SAMA, just a couple blocks from my house, was having a conversation with Alex Grey free to the public! Boy, has this guy done some dwugzz. I also ran into my friend Kate from austin and we drank a lot of Blue Star's King William [11% by vol!] it was awesome.

Lady Flo is my Hero!

If you don't know who Florence is, she is in my documentary entitled "The Light of Montopolis" that you can find on my list of videos on Vimeo. Florence recently displayed some beautiful stuff at an art show at her home, the Comfort House. You can check out her site at: http://www.florencescomforthouse.org/
She is also my hero!!

me playing with effects

this first one was just a practice run to see how NI effects rendered with HD footage.. shot at home with the cats, Moses and Billie, and roommate, Roy in TeeVee MODE

This next one is longer and I used more of the effects i had to work with. I shot strips of celluloid over a rotating LED, added and overlay to the footage with color correction, then rendered the sequences with different effects. I also added some bit music that my friend Stella aka Prince_S makes on her gameboy! Listen to her music at

enjoy!
